Triskele Farm is an advanced Permaculture
and Agroecology Centre for all

Triskele `s vision is to offer the greatest benefits to the largest number of Beings for the longest time possible with the least possible effort by dynamically integrating cutting edge regenerative design principles with Action Learning based higher education and spiritual enquiry to create a landmark agroecology research farm and community.

Triskele is a living demonstration of cooperation Vs competition. We produce and demonstrate; a relevant and sustained fulfilment through an integral lifestyle; replicable and scalable solutions for community resilience; thriving alternative economics; cutting edge land repair and stewardship; holistic leadership development; research data for advanced ecological farming applicable to temperate regions globally.

Inviting you deeper into the Vision...

Imagine a farm where all the inputs needed come from what is available onsite; utilising all  "wastes" to produce a fertile diversity of high quality and high value goods that meet local needs, that are then traded outside of the conventional money system.  Imagine a farm that even incorporates outside "wastes" to build all its machinery from scrap, with no implement costing more than $3000.  A farm run by Action Learners working towards qualifications such as UK Permaculture Diplomas and BSc, MSc and even PhD`s at cutting edge regenerative learning institutions such as Gaia University plus 6 and 12 month internships focusing on nature connection and self reliance.  Imagine a landscape crafted to capture and store more water than it needs, whilst providing semi- intensive aquaculture systems and a natural swimming pool for the communities leisure.

A farm that recognises that the integration of land stewardship, community and personal health and growth and education are fundamental in developing a future worthy of our children`s inheritance.  A farm whose business is growing people over profitable goods, integrating rather than segregating; committed to life-long learning and constantly evolving  creative responses to our situation.  A community that knows our continued survival depends on a new future of cooperation and reduced competition.  A farm that is open for barter customers to come and walk the land harvesting their own produce; saving time whilst utilising the opportunity to educate people, and putting people in direct contact with their food to encouraging the fresh local seasonal diet most suited for vibrant health.

Imagine the synergy of a community running a farm with an equal emphasis on nature connection,  simple living and inner growth, living in natural and beautiful buildings costing less than $5000 each.  What about a farm designed to regenerate degraded farmland into an economically and ecologically profitable space of abundance, supplying all its energy needs "off grid".  A farm that open sources all its finances, research and learnings (as well as mistakes) and creates a tangible model replicable and scalable elsewhere for our resilient future.  A farm that purposefully holds living gene banks and seed stocks to help establish other projects with perennial food systems scalable in acre blocks.  A community so committed to its purpose that each member spends one month every year committed to community service on a voluntary basis.  And what`s more, with a successful trading business supporting us, Triskele offers world class courses of education regularly for free to make sure the vital regeneration of land based knowledge is available to all equally.

Dynamic Skillflexes and Management for Integrative development

Using cutting edge regenerative Permaculture design and research the farm demonstrates and facilitates education in broadacre permaculture application as well as smaller scale community focused work.  Through the synthesis of keyline design, silviculture, aquaculture, food forests, integrated animal husbandry, bio- intensive herb/ vegetable production and deep tined non-inversion ploughing techniques for pasture regeneration the farm is a powerful model for ecosystem renewal throughout the UK.  Non- inversion deep ripping ploughs for rapid top soil creation and pasture regeneration are little known in this country, and we aim to demonstrate profitable solutions that sequester large volumes of carbon in line with EU directives, improve soil ecology and dramatically improve yields and production at a very low initial cost and energy input.  Research on Biochar for carbon sequestration, fertility and soil structure adds to the dynamic mix of powerful agroecology at the farm.

The whole systems design means the farm produces and captures and stores all the necessary energy (including wood, gas, ethanol, electricity and fertilisers) on site, with all by-products from one system incorporated into other farm systems to provide niche yields and the complex stability suitable for ecological production.  Abundant gardens based on Biodynamic principles supply the highest quality foods and medicines, providing mulch and composts after their crop.  Yearly seed saving operations safeguard important varieties to gift and  exchange through the gift economy.  Mushrooms produce food and medicines from agricultural and forestry by- products, in turn providing natural fertiliser, pesticide and herbicide.  Animal and human wastes provide rich fertiliser and cooking gas, the farm and communities waste water is all cleaned through living systems and re- used.  All building materials are sourced on site or recycled from others scrap.  All mulch and fodder is grown on site.  Waste agricultural/ forestry products create alcohol to run machinery and by- products add to compost materials.  Community firewood is managed onsite.  Every aspect of the farm utilises and provides for at least one other element, giving a stable year round opportunity for high value products, community and ecological resilience that constantly grows.  Nothing wasted- nothing wanted.  It is this careful attitude of design that makes the trading/ exchange "business" successful and supports the opportunity to host free educational courses.

Whilst establishing a model for a small community run farm supplying the local community, Triskele is designed with broadacre farms in mind.  Each individual aspect is demonstrated to allow the direct replication elsewhere, in an easily scalable fashion.  Through open sourced research and development the aim is to provide tangible data including costings and returns to encourage larger land owners to integrate ecological methodology into broader scale farms.

This work is extremely important in the transition away from a subsidy dependant, global economic model to a more forward thinking multi- local model of ecosystem investment that is vital for safeguarding the very systems we rely so heavily upon into the future.
